Sarah grew up and was educated in Ireland. She received her Bachelor’s Degree, a Higher Diploma in Education and a Master’s Degree in Ancient Classics at the National University of Ireland, Galway and pursued doctoral studies in the United States. Here she taught Latin and Greek as Assistant Professor of Classics at Purdue University and later Ball State University. After her return to the UK in 1995 she held a variety of teaching posts in London, becoming Deputy Head (pastoral) and Head of Boarding at St Leonards-Mayfield School, a Catholic Independent Boarding School for girls in East Sussex. Sarah, who has also taught in Rome, is married and has two daughters. She enjoys movies, reading, family time and dog walking.
