Jim Hardin

Jim joined Dubai American Academy in 2010 and served as its deputy superintendent before being appointed its superintendent in 2014. Jim started his teaching career in rural Nebraska (USA) in 1989 before joining the Peace Corps and serving for two years in Poland from 1990 to 1992. He has had the opportunity to work in several outstanding schools offering Advanced Placement or IB diploma programs during his 25-year career, both in the United States and internationally. Jim taught both middle and high school, including many years as an AP or IB English and History teacher, and has coached (American) football, wrestling, baseball, and track and field. Jim holds a BS from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, two MAs from the University of Chicago and George Washington University, and a Ph.D. from Capella University. Jim is joined at DAA by his wife, who teaches in DAA’s Primary School, and his daughter, who is in high school. Jim also has a son who graduated from DAA in 2014 and is now attending university in the United States. The Hardins make their permanent home in Colorado (USA).
